Kultura Charleston: Reviews & Ratings
One of the best dining experiences had here in Charleston. Thank you Chef Nikko for bringing such elevated Phillipino cuisine to the city. The lumpias and the curry fish are must trys. The scallops are also divine and you gotta wrap up the meal with thr dessert trio. Can't wait to be back!
I met up with a friend visiting Charleston for brunch at Kultura. We had no idea what to expect as neither of us had much experience with Filipino cuisine, although everything on the menu looked fresh and exciting. I was most intrigued by the Tortang Talong, an eggplant omelet with banana ketchup aioli, sweet soy, and caviar with a side of sticky rice which was delicious and unlike anything I've tasted before. I also had the Halo Halo Mocktail and was sure have a few of the Ube pastries packaged to go for my husband at home. Every single thing we tried was so original and delicious. My husband and I are excited to visit the new location for the dinner menu soon. Charleston is blessed to have such talented chefs from unique and inspiring backgrounds to create their art here. Lots of appreciation for Chef Nikko for his vision and talent.
One of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had! Our app appetizer was scrumptious! The owner of the restaurant greeted us and explained every dish to us as they came out. The porridge that’s seem as if it came straight from his grandmother’s kitchen was to die for. Even the dessert was awesome! Hands down one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. Maybe THEE favorite! Unfortunately could only find one photo from the experience in my Google cloud, which is of a delectable drink to start our meal. We definitely will be back! Highly recommended!!
The Kamayan feast was such a fun way to spend our Sunday evening. This allows you to sample multiple staple me u items and I love the communal eating feel. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back to taste more of the individual and unique dishes!
Kultura is truly something special. As someone of Filipino heritage, this meal felt deeply personal. The food is outstanding and beautifully authentic—rooted in tradition yet full of life. We shared the kamayan meal, which was such a fun, communal experience. My partner loved the tradition of eating with your hands—no utensils allowed—which made the meal feel playful, immersive, and deeply connected to the food. The sinigang brought me straight back to my childhood. One sip reminded me of the soup my mom used to make at home, and it was incredibly moving to taste those same flavors again, prepared with such care and respect. And then there’s Nikko—an absolute star. Hardworking, positive, and immensely talented, his passion shines through in every detail. You can feel the heart behind the food. Kultura is Filipino cuisine made with soul, integrity, and joy. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Whether you’re reconnecting with your roots or discovering Filipino food for the first time, this place is a must when you’re in Charleston.
Edited review for the new location. Food continues to be fantastic and great service. New spot has a great feel inside and a lot more tables. One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston! Second time and another great experience. Favorite was the duck. Amazing flavors. Service is always great. We ate outside on the terrace today.
Had a fantastic Kamayan dinner here tonight, and cannot wait to come back. Diana was a joy, the food was spectacular, and the cocktails were also great. Book the Kamayan if you’re coming on a Sunday night - it’s certainly the best food I’ve had in Charleston.
10/10!!! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL stunning place, amazing ambiance, and every single piece of food was so good and made with such care. Same with the drinks. Absolutely in love with this place. Service was great too, extremely friendly and attentive staff! Wish I took pics of the beautiful food but was too busy enjoying. Kinilaw was incredible. Also got the porridge, lumpia, and salmon curry. And 3 drinks between the two of us. All AMAZING. Pictured drink is the Holy City Salawat which was delightful.
